I had the pleasure once again of attending and presenting at the 2019 Thoreau Annual Gathering, held in Concord, Massachusetts, and participated on a panel of distinguished scholars discussing "Transcendentalism: Men and Women Conversing," co-sponsored by the Ralph Waldo Emerson, Margaret Fuller, and Louisa May Alcott Societies. The title of my paper was Woman Conversing: Feminine Philosophers at the Concord School of Philosophy, and I received some wonderful feedback and met some new friends interested in reviving the history of the Concord School (which I wrote about in my 2004 book, Woman Thinking). Visiting Concord and the Thoreau Gathering each summer is one of my favorite things to do!
